“Doppio” is an Italian word meaning “double,” and in the context of coffee, it refers to a double shot of espresso, made with twice the amount of ground coffee and yielding about 60 ml (2 ounces) of the drink. The process of making a doppio is the same as a single espresso, but with a double dose of coffee grounds.
